WADE ASIA Celebrates International Womens Day | MARCH 2022 | Special Talks with Women who empower other women

Celebrating International Womens Day

Founders Vertica Dvivedi and Madhurima Chowdhury created WADE ASIA in 2016 with a small team. But WADE ASIA is no longer a small space, it had grown massively towards celebrating women in the field.

Over the past five years, WADE ASIA has held multiple events, knowledge sessions, masterclass, material workshops, and award ceremonies for Women in Design.

They wanted to recognise the voices, efforts, and struggles of the Women working in the field of Architecture, Construction, Design, and more. With the goal of creating a Women-led movement, WADE was born. Thousands of women and lacs of people have connected with each other through this platform and shall continue to do so.

WADE Awards & Conference will be celebrating its 5th Year this year from 2-4th Sept, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, also commemorating 7th year of WADE ASIA.

This women’s week, WADE ASIA brings to you sessions with amazing and inspirational women:

Women in Special Contribution and Social Causes with Pratima Joshi | 8 th March, Tuesday, 10:00 AM
(Recipient of WADE ASIA Special Contribution Award in 2018)

Pratima is one of the very few visionaries, who recognised the issues around provision of safe access to basic services such as water, sanitation, social housing, waste management etc., over two decades before today’s focus on urban planning and development.

Her knowledge as an architect and her passion for ensuring equitable distribution of rights and resources to all leading to an upgraded lifestyle for the urban poor led her to establish Shelter Associates in 1993.

This brilliant session is bound to inspire everyone towards growth and success.

Women in Special Contribution and Social Causes with AR Gita Balakrishnan | 8th March, Tuesday, 5:00 PM

(Recipient of WADE ASIA Special Contribution Award in 2017)

Gita Balakrishnan is a graduate of the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. She completed her practical training at the Centre for Building Performance and Diagnostics at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA

In 2002, she founded Ethos, an initiative to bridge the gap between students and professionals from the Architecture, Construction, Engineering and Design fraternity as an engaging and empowering platform for young professionals who are to be decision-makers in the years to come.

Ethos will be completing 20 remarkable years in June 2022. To mark this milestone coinciding with 75 years of Independent India, Architect Gita has embarked upon a 1700km walk from Kolkata to New Delhi, to spread awareness on how good design can play a great role in changing lives.

This brilliant session is all set to help people who plan to reach the spark towards success as a whole.

Keep Watching this Space as we share information on more talks with inspiring women all this month..

Happy #International Women's Day to all of you.
