Symphony of Blues, Cane, and Wood in Cafe Azure | DS2 Architecture | Bengaluru

Cafe Azzure, designed by DS2 Architecture, captures the essence of Santorini with its architectural style and materials. Located roughly 10km from the Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport, the cafe spans the third and terrace floors of an east-facing building. Firm shares more details with SURFACES REPORTER (SR). Take a look:

The design of the cafe combines global style with local elements, offering a culturally enriched experience.

At the entrance, one is greeted by a subtle white brick wall and an Azzure-coloured double door with frosted glass inserts. Shades of blue and textures of cane and wood blend in together to seamlessly create a visual symphony that is at once quaint, debonair yet celebratory.

Taste of varied Experiences

The indoor space caters to large gatherings and families, with wooden flooring and ceramic tiles subtly dividing semi-private and private areas. Cane elements in lighting fixtures and counters blend various influences. Fluted-blue columns provide visual contrast and traditional depth amidst modern elements.

The terrace accommodates a diverse crowd, featuring arches that lead to expansive views of the airport road and hills. n either side, semi-private seating has been accommodated. The terrace area can be largely divided into three sections – either side having a smaller configuration while the centre has permutations of 4, 2 and larger configurations.

Rustic and Earthy Touch

The left side features a raised area with a distinctive brown panel, while the right side showcases seating carved into white textured, curving walls. In the central area, stamped concrete flooring is illuminated by ceiling lights, defining the space.

The oven, visible from multiple angles, is clad in white bricks and blue ceramic tiles, adding a rustic touch to the space.
